For this website I decided to focus mainly on the new Title X rule and women empowerment. For my article I started it off by explaining exactly what the new rule is because not many people know this new rule even exists. Then I went on to talk about all the resources that Planned Parenthood provides and why it’s so important for women in low income areas. I did this so my readers can become aware on why Planned Parenthood should stay open. I mentioned what exactly it’ll mean for Planned Parenthood to educate my audience on the importance of the federal fund and make them realize how bad this rule is. Then I mentioned how it can affect “you” and how bad this new rule is for women in low income areas. I did this to build pathos and get my audience to support Planned Parenthood and realize that this new rule can affect them too. I then talked about how the people who are supporters of this new rule feel about this new rule and I mentioned why I believe their argument is wrong. I did this so my audience can feel angry towards the people who support this new rule and agree with my argument. I ended my article with mentioning ways that my audience can do something against this new rule and to support Planned Parenthood. I included this so my audience can have some knowledge on what exactly they can do if they end up agreeing with my argument against this new rule.
I decided to add pictures under every sub section to keep my reader entertained and keep my article visually pleasing. Each picture relates to the subsection it is in. In most of the pictures you can see people protesting the new Title X rule and supporting Planned Parenthood. I included this to show my audience how millions of people are fighting this new rule and hopefully this motivates them to want to make a change too. I also included a picture of the Planned Parenthood logo so it would be easier to visualize it. The last picture I added was to emphasize what I wrote about women empowerment and for more visual appeal. I also split up my articles into sections so that it will flow better and be easier to understand for my readers. This will make my audience enjoy my article a little bit better and make it less boring than just one whole long essay.
The part that I struggled the most in writing my web article was trying to meet the word count in the beginning because I wasn’t sure how I wanted to structure my article. But once I figured out how I wanted it to look, it became much easier to meet the word count. The easiest part was making it visually appealing with pictures and subtitles. It was also very easy to find supporting sources and hyperlink them into my article.
